A Religious Role in the Globe

A Role in the Globe

Religion plays many different roles in today’s society. For starters, religion preserves art. Many of the most famous paintings of today have been inspired by religious stories or beliefs. Religion also brings communities closer together because of common views. Another role that religion has in society is that it preserves stories of events that may have once happened. Religion also teaches many people values. For example, many religions teach society not to kill, not to steal and not to lie.

Many people’s views on religion have changed a lot through time. For example, now religion is often used more lightly than in older times. Instead of going to pray constantly, many people have started to go much less often. Religion is also at times being made fun of in today’s society. For example, we now have certain parody religions like “Googlism”. Most people of today rely on technology and science instead of religion.

People’s closeness with religion have changed throughout the years. As time goes on, people are relying less and less on their religions. A major cause for this is the way the children of today are being brought up. Many are being brought up in the world of technology instead of in the world of religion. Kids are focusing more on video games, for example, than on going to pray. This is affecting the kids as they grow up, therefore affecting future generations to come.

I view religion as an art. I find that many people appreciate it, believe in it and celebrate it in different ways. Something I like very much about religion is that it gives humans the right to believe in what they want. It gives people freedom of thought. If we didn’t have the right to our own beliefs, where would we be today?
